Patricia Field

Patricia Field portrait

This year I begin my 6th year teaching at Jefferson High School and my 21st year teaching in the Bloomington Schools. I am very excited to be a part of the Special Education Department at Jefferson High School. I have been teaching in the SLD Program and teaching Reading for most of my previous years at Kennedy High School and Jefferson High School. I began my teaching career teaching German at Hutchinson High School. In our classroom, students will work on skills to help increase their academic skills and to prepare for their life after high school.

In my free time I enjoy reading, movies, going to my cabin, skiing in the winter, golfing in the summer, camping and spending time with my family and friends. I love a good spy novel and can get lost in the pages. I also love all kinds of movies; musicals to action/adventure. My husband, Jim is an Independent Sales Rep for building materials, but his true vocation is building. He has been building log furniture, both for our cabin and to sell. We are do-it -yourselfers, so we are also always updating our home. He also loves to cook, which I do not.  Our daughter graduated from UW Milwaukee with a degree in Social Work. She just accepted a position as a Youth and Family Services Coordinator. Our 5 year old Golden Retriever, Mazy, the wonder dog, loves when Emma comes home for a visit. Mazy gives her hugs- which is adorable. This summer was quiet and subdued! I fell in early June and broke my knee cap. After some tests, it was determined that I need to have a total knee replacement surgery. I will not be coming back to school until about mid October.

I also have a step daughter and son-in-law, Kati and Nate, and their wonderful 2 children, Christian and Addy, who live in Plymouth. Christian is a junior in high school and playing football. We will be watching him play football this fall. Awesome!! It is such fun. Addy is 4 and very busy. She loves to play and dance. I also have a step son, Tom, who lives in Ketchikan, Alaska. We were lucky to be able to visit him 2 years ago and hope to go again soon. He loves the Alaskan frontier life. We love family gatherings and having a house full of people.
