Last month, we introduced Google’s Be Internet Awesome Family Guide which includes five focus areas.  

This month, we’re highlighting the second component, Be Internet Alert, which emphasizes the importance of helping kids become aware that what they see online isn’t always true, real or reliable. Below is an activity your family can complete to help you discuss strategies for determining what is real and fake online. 

Family Activity

Complete the activity that provides sample scenarios to talk about as a family. Activity goals include: 

1. Understanding that just because something is online doesn’t mean it’s true. 
2. Learning how online search works and why it’s important to use critical thinking when searching for information and other content.
