Ann Lenczewski

Ann Lenczewski’s (Class of 1978) Bloomington roots run deep. She grew up in Bloomington and attended the Bloomington Public Schools. Ann has served on numerous boards and commissions throughout the city: Bloomington Planning Commission; Bloomington Chamber of Commerce Board; Bloomington Park and Arts Task Force, Chair; Bloomington League of Women Voters Board; Bloomington School education initiatives; Bloomington Athletic Association (BAA) and many high school booster clubs as well.

Ann Lenczewski graduated from the College of St. Benedict and did her graduate work at the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.  She is married with four children.

Ann was encouraged by many to run for local office due to her outstanding leadership qualities. She succeeded in her first campaign by winning a seat on the Bloomington City Council in 1993 and serving on the Council from 1994-1998.  In 1998, she was successfully elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives and is currently representing District 50B.

Ann credits her success to the thousands of Bloomington residents who provide her with input as she goes door to door. She counts on the good judgment and integrity of residents to be candid and fair as they work together.
