Ben Clymer

Ben (Class of 1996) was a hockey standout at Jefferson HS; he lettered in hockey his sophomore, junior, and senior years and was captain his senior year. Member of 1994 State Championship team; was All Conference and All State in 1995 & 1996. In 1996 Ben was Lake Conference Player of the Year and a Mr. Hockey finalist. From 1996-1998, Ben played for the University of Minnesota. Member of 1996-97 WCHA All Rookie Team. In 1997 and 1998 he was a member of the US World Junior Team. In 1998-99, he was a member of the WHL Seattle Thunderbirds. From 1999 2004 Ben played for the NHL Tampa Bay Lightning, winning the Stanley Cup in 2004; he ranks 7th in the team on scoring. Ben signed with the Washington Capitals in 2005. NHL career totals: 372 games, 45 goals, 65 assists, 110 total points. He is a supporter of the Shjon Podien Childrens Foundation.
