Karen Parker Aberman
Karen Parker Aberman was a 3-sport athlete at Jefferson, earning 9 letters in soccer, basketball and softball. She was part of the first Minnesota State High School girls soccer championship team in 1981. Karen was a four-year starter for the Wisconsin Badgers women's soccer team, and was a 3-time All Region player. She is among the career scoring leaders in Wisconsin women's soccer history. After college, Karen coached Division 1 soccer in the Big Ten, the Pac-10, the Atlantic 10, and Ivy League. Karen served as head coach at Carleton College for 4 years, head coach at the University of Rhode Island for 5 years, and assistant coach at Yale University for 4 years. She holds an advanced national coaching diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association. Karen returned to Jefferson to coach the freshman soccer, basketball and softball teams in 1986-87. Before retiring from coaching recently, Karen has been involved as a player or coach for 21 of the 22 years that the NCAA has sponsored women's soccer. Karen currently makes her home in Minnetonka with her husband Rick.
